The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the tentative examination schedule for NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026. The announcement brings clarity for thousands of medical and dental graduates across the country who are preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations this year.

According to the notice issued by NBEMS, both NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026 will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The examinations will be held at designated centres across India, following the standard process adopted by the board in recent years.

Regarding Tentative schedule of NEET-MDS 2026 and NEET-PG 2026 Exam

As per the tentative schedule, the NEET MDS 2026 examination is expected to be conducted on May 2, 2026 (Saturday). Candidates planning to appear for NEET MDS must take note of the internship completion requirement. NBEMS has fixed May 31, 2026 as the cut-off date for completion of the compulsory internship for NEET MDS 2026 eligibility.

In the same notice, NBEMS has also shared details regarding NEET PG 2026, which is tentatively scheduled to be held on August 30, 2026 (Sunday). Medical graduates intending to appear for NEET PG must ensure that they complete their internship on or before September 30, 2026, as mentioned in the eligibility criteria of the tentative schedule.

The board has clearly stated that the dates announced are tentative in nature. Detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern, syllabus, fee structure, and other important instructions will be released separately through the official Information Bulletin for each examination.

Candidates are strongly advised to regularly check the official NBEMS website, natboard.edu.in, to stay updated on any changes, confirmations, or additional announcements related to NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026. Any future updates, including application start dates and admit card information, will be published only through official channels.

For queries or clarification, NBEMS has instructed candidates to use its official communication web portal https://natboard.edu.in/viewNotice.php?NBE=Vmpnd2Y3amF1TXRacVd5ci9pQ3lHUT09, instead of relying on unofficial sources or social media updates.

It is important to note that NEET PG and NEET MDS are the only recognized entrance examinations for admission to postgraduate medical (MD/MS/PG Diploma) and dental (MDS) courses in India. NBEMS has reiterated that no state government, private medical college, or university is permitted to conduct a separate entrance exam for these programmes.

However, the board has also clarified that certain medical institutions are exempted from NEET-PG admissions. Candidates seeking admission to such institutions must carefully refer to the respective Information Bulletin once released.

The Information Bulletins for NEET PG 2026 and NEET MDS 2026 will be published soon on the official NBEMS website. Aspirants are encouraged to plan their preparation in advance while keeping track of official updates to avoid missing important deadlines.
