Dhurandhar Film Review—A Powerful, Action-packed, Engrossing, Yet A Bit Dragged-Out Theatrical Experience!

Dhurandhar Film Poster

Bollywood’s Dec 5, 2025 released spy action thriller Dhurandhar is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar. Starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, it was produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the names Jio Studios and B62 Studios.

The movie draws inspiration from actual RAW led operation, geopolitical disputes, and RAW’s undercover operation, especially “Operation Lyari,” a government-led clamp down against local pakistani gangs and criminal organizations in Karachi, Pakistan’s Lyari neighborhood.

Filming was done in Thailand, Mumbai, Punjab, and Ladakh between July 2024 and October 2025. Music director Shashwat Sachdev composed the film’s music and soundtrack.

With a duration of 214 minutes, it is one of the lengthiest Indian films ever made.

Dhurandhar is released today, 5 December 2025.

Kahani :

Dhurandhar Film Poster 2

The film, which is set against the backdrop of the 1999 hijacking of IC-814 and the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament, centers around Ajay Sanyal, the chief of India’s Intelligence Bureau, who plotted a bold and unwavering plan to infiltrate and destroy a potent terrorist network that operates out of Pakistan. Sanyal hires a 20-year-old lad, an unusual asset, to oversee this risky operation.

Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh) from Punjab was imprisoned for a crime motivated by retaliation. Sanyal mentor to shape the youngster into a asset that can destroy the Karachi’s brutal underworld mafia after identifying his potential and unadulterated power. Will Hamza Ali complete the mission that has been given to him? Viewers, the answers unfold by watching the movie on the cinema screens.

Upside:

Dhurandhar Poster 3

Dhurandhar is one of the few films that handles the plot in a realistic, grounded, and passionate manner, emphasizing the risky lives of undercover spies who will stop at nothing to secure their country.

Aditya Dhar, the director, should be commended for his strategy and for remaining loyal to his original idea. It’s amazing how he depicts the violent gang wars, the underworld in Pakistan, and the brutality of some groups. Strong characterizations and good casting are two of Dhurandhar’s strongest features; they give the movie dimension and prevent it from feeling like another cliched spy thriller.

There are several moments in both halves that make the movie worth seeing. The plot, which follows the adventures of several characters, is skillfully woven from the start. The film’s authenticity is increased by the brilliant captured violent action scenes.

There is a second part sequel planned as well, and the satisfying conclusion just heightens expectation in the next sequel.

Each character has given an outstanding performance. However, Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh steals the show. As Hamza, Ranveer must self-discipline and he does it flawlessly. His strong action avatar ignites the screen when he bursts. Akshaye Khanna occasionally out perform, and Ranveer demonstrates his consistency as a performer by adhering to the tight script.

Akshaye Khanna’s latest performances are so amazing that it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. Dhurandhar unveils the beast within Ranveer Singh, portraying character in a considerably more potent capacity, displaying his genius with few scenes and conversation.

One of the film’s biggest strengths is Akshaye Khanna, whose powerful characterization and dominating on-screen presence out shine every frame. Excellent support is given by Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and other characters.

Downside:

Dhurandhar Poster 4

The lengthy and rather dragging runtime may not be to everyone’s taste. For greater effect, a few sequences and the Ayesha Khan portrayed marriage song sequence in the second half should have been edited.

Still, without a doubt, Dhurandhar is a sincere and skillfully crafted spy saga; yet, because Bollywood films have recently delved deeply into this genre, some segments of the public may not turned up to watch, which sadly serves as a no no.

Viewer’s Review:

Dhurandhar is “a complete magnum opus,” according to one viewer, who said the movie starts with amazing action, develops well throughout the intermission, and never gets stale. He recommends it saying – ek baar dekho and noted that the second half is loaded with constant, thrilling action.

A very positive review was submitted by another viewer who watched the first-day first-show. “Powerful, action-packed theatrical experience” is how the viewer described the movie. Additionally, he commended Ranveer Singh for one of his most poignant and realistic performances. He also praised R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshaye Khanna for their excellent performances.

Overall, many vieweres claims that the film is an incredible, not to miss theatre experience.

Is It Depicting Major Mohit Sharma’s Kahani?

Director Aditya Dhar provides explanation earlier, there was a lot of speculation that the movie was inspired by the life of Ashoka Chakra recipient Major Mohit Sharma. These speculation were publicly refuted by Director Aditya Dhar, who emphasized that Dhurandhar is not based on the officer’s personal life or biography. Now that the controversy has been answered, the discussion has returned to the universe and plot of the film.

The Start of a Two-Part Spy Sequel:

According to reports, Dhurandhar is the beginning of a two-part spy sequel with the goal of creating long-form narratives with recurrent characters, connected missions, and a grim, international espionage canvas. Expectations are skyrocketing as the Dhurandhar initial review is trending on all media.

The film’s thrilling scenes, Ranveer Singh’s dramatic transitions, and its finer details of RAW operations have already made it one of the year’s most upcoming releases. Dhurandhar is presently the most trending spy thriller in the pre release race; whether the movie measures up to the trending early excitement will be known after December 5. However, Dhurandhar is presently the most publicized spy thriller.

In the bollywood industry, Durandhar’s length has also garnered interest. The censor certificate shows that the runtime is 214 minutes, or 3 hours, 34 minutes, and 1 second. This makes it longer in length than Jodhaa Akbar.

Production Features:

Shashwat Sachdev’s soundtrack is rather entertaining, and the dramatic background score enhances the thrilling scenes. The film’s dramatic visuals is well captured by Vikash Nowlakha’s excellent cinematography. Although a couple scenes should have been deleted, the editing seems passable. Overall It’s a fantastic production value.

Aditya Dhar, the director, did a fantastic job. It’s clear that he has a lot more material planned, and it’s quite an accomplishment that he managed to keep the story engrossing for lengthy duration.

Filmy Verdict:

Overall, Dhurandhar is a compelling, dramatic, and engrossing spy action thriller. The movie convincingly tells the story of a spy inspired by actual events and has enough substance to keep us interested for the most part. Ranveer Singh performs his part subtly, but he lets loose with his unadulterated power when the action takes center stage. In the end, with his exceptional performance, Akshaye Khanna steals the show.

The film Dhurandhar has reportedly sold around 55,000 tickets in top national chains including PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for its premiere day, by Wednesday night. According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ starring Ranveer Singh has earned around Rs 18.88 crore in India as of 7.10 pm on 5th December 2025. But going by the high production cost and the cast’s fees, at present the
collection figures are lower than expected..

So, if you enjoy action spy movies, Dhurandhar ends up being an exciting picture to watch with family and friends.

Why Ikkis Is More Than a War Film: The True Story of Second Lt. Arun Khetarpal, Who Became Immortal at 21.

bharatnewsupdates : Ikkis Movie Review

When Courage Was Just 21: Movie Ikkis and the Boy Who Became Immortal

Some stories don’t announce themselves with noise. They arrive quietly, sit beside you, and by the time the final frame fades, they’ve wrapped themselves around your heart.

Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis is one such film.

Set against the thunderous backdrop of the 1971 Indo–Pak war, Ikkis doesn’t chase spectacle for the sake of it. Instead, it gently peels back the uniform to reveal the boy beneath—the son, the dreamer, the soldier who was only 21 years old when courage asked everything of him.

This is the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. But more than that, it is a story of legacy—of how bravery outlives the body, and how love survives even the loudest wars.

A War Film That Breathes Like a Memory

From its opening moments, Ikkis chooses patience over pomp. The film allows silence to speak, glances to linger, and emotions to settle before marching forward.

The nation is at war, yes—but the film is deeply invested in the people living through it.

The narrative unfolds in layers.

Bharatnewsupdates : Ikkis Movie Review

Poster Courtesy : Maddock Films

One layer places us in the middle of battle, alongside young Arun—played with striking sincerity by Agastya Nanda—as tanks roar and history tightens its grip. Another layer jumps three decades ahead, where an ageing father, portrayed by Dharmendra, carries the weight of pride and loss in equal measure. Between these timelines lie fragments of youth—training days, quiet romance, laughter, ambition, and the thrill of wearing the uniform for the first time.

It’s a structure that mirrors memory itself—imperfect, emotional, and deeply human.

Emotion Over Explosion, Soul Over Spectacle

Action in Ikkis is used with purpose. Every gunshot, every explosion serves the story—not the other way around. The sound design pulls you into the battlefield without overwhelming the emotion, while the background score and retro melodies feel like echoes from another time.

The dialogues avoid chest-thumping rhetoric. They are simple, honest, and quietly powerful—words spoken by people who know the cost of war.

This is not a film that glorifies conflict. It honours it. And more importantly, it mourns it.

Performances That Stay Long After the Credits Roll

Bharatnewsupdates : Ikkis Movie Review

Dharmendra, in what feels like a farewell gift to cinema, is nothing short of unforgettable. He doesn’t perform grief—he inhabits it. His eyes tell stories that dialogues don’t need to explain. In moments where he clutches a photograph, recites a Punjabi poem, or simply embraces another soldier, the theatre falls silent. These are the scenes that stay with you on the drive home.

Agastya Nanda, stepping into the shoes of a national hero for his debut, shows remarkable restraint and intensity. There’s a quiet fire in his performance—a boyish excitement when he first meets his tank, and steely resolve when duty calls. He doesn’t play Arun as a myth, but as a living, breathing young man who chose courage even when fear stood right in front of him.

Jaideep Ahlawat anchors the film with warmth and authority, while Simar Bhatia adds grace and emotional balance, even when the romantic arc could have been more deeply etched.

A Different Kind of Sriram Raghavan Film

Known for thrillers sharp as blades, Sriram Raghavan reveals a softer, more contemplative side here. Ikkis is reflective, elegant, and emotionally rich. His portrayal of war feels almost poetic—reminiscent of old Commando comics, yet grounded in reality.

Bharatnewsupdates: Ikkis Review

The film may slow down in parts, especially in the second half, but that’s also where it deepens. It dares to sit with emotion, to let pain breathe, and to remind us that real heroism is often quiet.

Why Ikkis Matters

At its heart, Ikkis asks a simple but profound question: What does it mean to be brave?

As Uri actor Vicky Kaushal aptly reflects, bravery isn’t measured by age. Legends don’t wait to grow old. Sometimes, they rise at 21—and become eternal.

By the time the final scene unfolds, tears come not because the film demands them, but because it earns them.

Final Verdict

Ikkis is not loud. It is not flashy. And that is precisely why it works.

It is a war film with a soul, a tribute wrapped in tenderness, and a reminder that courage, once given, never truly dies.
This New Year, don’t just watch a film. Witness a legacy.

Highly Recommended.

“MAUT SE KYA DARNA, USSE TOH AANA HAI” – Salaman Khan Starer Battle Of Galwan Teaser Out Now!

Published

on

Bharatnewsupdates ; Battle Of Galwan Teaser

Battle Of Galwan Teaser Out Now! Raw Frames, Powerful emotions. Most appealing teaser of the 2025 year-end!

The film is inspired by the India–China clash of 2020, and the teaser smartly keeps things focussed along with raw rage and a do-or-die battle. The film portrays real-life Indian Army Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu leading Indian troops in brutal hand-to-hand combat against intruding Chinese forces along the Line of Actual Control, where 20 soldiers lost their lives.

Bharatnewsupdates ; Battle Of Galwan Teaser

The Battle of Galwan, which was fought between 200 Indian soldiers who defended their LoC against 1200 Chinese soldiers, is a story of bravery and Indomitable spirit.

To begin with, the story itself is overwhelmingly powerful. In the Galwan Valley, the Indian Army’s Bihar Regiment fought the Chinese Army in brutal hand-to-hand combat, unarmed but defeating them in a one-on-one fight, and successfully guarded Indian territory against Chinese aggression.

The teaser opens with a terrific, patriotic background song by Himesh Reshammiya, then comes Salman Khan’s entry, standing calmly, holding a stick, waiting for the intruding Chinese troop. That moment felt incredibly jaw-dropping and gripping.

Bharatnewsupdates ; Battle Of Galwan Teaser

Salman Khan’s charismatic screen entry as the bloodied colonel in army exhaustion, encouraging and cheering his troop with spirited lines like ‘Jawaano yaad rahe… zakham dikhe to medal samajhna..aur maut dikhe toh salaam karna aur kehna – aaj nahi, fir kabhi.” is powerful, thrilling, and spectacular whistle-worthy.

As Indian Army Officer, Salman Khan returns in a brutal, without-limits character, back with a bang.
Salman Khan in an Indian Army uniform look is a different beast altogether. The uniform perfectly suits on him, but more than that, it’s the intensity in his eyes that tells the story with deep emotion. He isn’t playing a role — he is in character. Silent rage, controlled aggression, and emotional depth all packed into a few frames.

The Battle Of Galwan Teaser script keeps things focussed, balanced, and dignified.

No unnecessary exaggeration, no melodrama —just the pure emotion, the tension, and the real outcome.
The collaboration of Himesh Reshammiya’s powerful score with vocals by Stebin Ben & Salman Khan once again proves why this duo is lethal. The BGM and music uplift every frame —patriotic without being nonsense, intense without being awful.

The sound design alone adds massive weight to the teaser.

Exciting and intense, this one promises gritty, raw visuals that capture the harsh terrain and brutal realities of high-altitude combat.

Nothing is greater than the nation, the pride of our country, and the Indian Army.

Salman’s fans are really waiting for this movie and will be excited to see Salman act in a film like this after a long, long time in his career. After many years, Salman Khan finally shows a glimpse of his true, raw form, and this film can definitely mark Salman’s comeback with great box office collections.

Earlier, we would cheer a movie like this merely for its patriotism and ignore the clear underperformance and lack of effort.

Dhurandhar has massively upped our expectations from cinema.

Post Dhurandhar, Indian cinema is divided into two periods: Before Dhurandhar (BD) and After Dhurandhar (AD).

Bharatnewsupdates ; Battle Of Galwan Teaser

“Maut se kya darrna, usse toh aana hi hai” an inspiring line by Salman Khan conveys a real soldier’s spirit, a sentiment that hits straight in the heart.!!!

The Battle Of Galwan teaser truly stands out with pure content-driven influence, powerful visuals, and a realistic treatment that will mesmerize you!

As Salman Khan turns 60 with a bang! The teaser for ‘Battle of Galwan’ looks epic —a proud tribute to Col. Santosh Babu & our heroes.
